The Wallingford Neighborhood Office and WEaving Wallingford were established in 1998 with Early Implementation Funds of the Wallingford neighborhood planning process.
The momentum of neighborhood planning continued with the advent of WEaving
Wallingford. We wanted a physical place where the various organizations in the neighborhood could continue to come together to “weave” community. WEaving Wallingford has a Board of Trustees that is visionary, energetic and diverse, and by-laws that ensure that this organization is responsive to the community.
With the support of Tully’s Coffee, WEaving Wallingford was able to obtain a long-term lease for prime street level space in the “Heart of Wallingford.” The office provides a physical space for collaboration between neighborhood organizations, including the Wallingford Community Council and the Wallingford
Chamber of Commerce.
In 2000, we were granted 501(c)(3) status, and we receive financial support from our Board of Trustees, community organizations, residents, annual fundraising events, and grants. WEaving Wallingford’s Executive Director and volunteer staff provide support for neighborhood projects as well as information for residents and visitors. Whether recruiting volunteers for projects or doing neighborhood outreach, WEaving Wallingford is involved!
